R-Package DoE.base (on CRAN already)

• holds the parent orthogonal arrays listed by Warren Kuhfeld
• provides functions fac.design for full factorial designs and oa.design for designs based on orthogonal arrays (the latter so far of limited automatic usability because of too few available designs)
• provides the class design that is used by all packages in the project to store and access information on experimental designs
• provides further utility functions for the other packages in the project (printing and summary, exporting and reintegrating responses typed in outside of R, combining designs e.g. for Taguchi inner/outer arrays (function param.design), editing data (not recommended to do that in R))
• provides default linear model analyses for experimental designs of class design (not meant to be an expert system, statistical expertise is not replaced)
• while many features have already been extensively tested,
  there are presumably still some gaps in the testing - bug reports invited!

Highest priority developments:

• systematic inclusion of more orthogonal arrays, especially the Kuhfeld (2009) child arrays
• better accomodation of some special designs in summary.design 
• extended testing of combination functions / change conceptualisation of their design.info attributes ?
• finalizing structure of class design
